On behalf of the Banking on Africa’s Future, it is my pleasure to welcome Mr. Simbarashe Garapo to the prestigious 10,000 Points of Light club being individuals who in living their dash, have experienced that, coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is success. Growth is never by mere chance, it is the result of forces working together. Every successful individual knows that his or her achievement is banked on a community of persons working together ,” said Mr. Tinashe Mpasiri, host of the morning show, the Continental Sunrise Breakfast Show on The 1873 FM radio www.the1873fm.com and an executive member of The 1873 Network www.the1873network.org.

Mr. Simbarashe Garapo is a business consultant with Absa Group, working in the financial crime space; developing, designing and implementing financial crime solutions throughout Africa. He graduated from Rhodes University with an Honours Degree in Information Systems in 2009 and kick started his career at Business Systems Group Africa.

Speaking on the Continental Sunrise Breakfast Show #CSBS1873, Mr. Simbarashe Garapo said, “Being part of a network or belonging to an association gives one leverage on other individuals’ skills and expertise. You have multiple people and multiple productive hours. It definitely sets a difference in terms of what you get done, how you get it done and the quality of the output.”

“The Banking On Africa’s Future initiative #BOAF, resonates very much to me,” said Simbarashe. “Africa is a continent with limitless possibilities, a population of 1.2 billion individuals with great potential that can be realised to secure a brighter future for all. Being an individual in one country limits myself tapping into that vast potential. However, the Banking On Africa’s Future initiative expands my reach, by connecting and networking with other individuals thereby getting more exposure and access to opportunities to make a difference,” he said.

“Changing the world begins with an individual and BOAF seeks to recognise the individuals who are making a difference in the world, as I continue building my bank and a community of change agents, I salute individuals like Mr. Simbarashe Garapo who are inspired to build communities of forwarding leaning individuals to secure the kind of future we all want collectively,” said Mr. Raphael Moyo of The 1873 Network.
