The Batik Siger collaborates the traditional Batik making techniques from Java with Sumatran designs.
Batik has personal attachment to most South Africans since Batik was the favourite outfit for Nelson Mandela who always wore Batik shirt. Batik shirt gained its popularity among South Africans as Madiba Shirt. This has also made Batik famous thoughout the world.
The Fashion Show took place at the Ambassador of Indonesia’s Residence and was organised by Madame Umi Mahmudah Al Farisi and the Indonesian Diplomatic Women Association.
